Pipeline Boys Selected For ECNL Super Cup Bracket

Pipeline is proud to announce the boys side has been selected as one of the premier clubs of ECNL and will be a part of the 2024/2025 SUPER CUP BRACKETS which only selects 8 clubs from the entire east coast.

The East Coast Super Cup will feature eight top clubs from the East Coast based on 2023-24 ECNL Boys regular season standings in the U15-U18/19 age groups.  Two clubs from each of the Florida Conference, Mid-Atlantic Conference, Northeast Conference, and Southeast Conference have qualified through their overall conference performance last season:

Florida Conference: Florida Kraze, Florida Premier
Mid-Atlantic Conference: NCFC Youth Academy, Beach FC (VA)
Northeast Conference: World Class, Pipeline SC
Southeast Conference: NTH-NASA, UFA

“The Super Cup is an incredible accomplishment for Pipeline and its players. ECNL continues to provide platforms that differentiate  us from the rest. Consistent results and a culmination of hard work will see players from 4 age groups (U15-U19) combine our top talent into one team to compete against the highest achieving clubs in the country is special. The idea of having U15s playing and being mentored by our U19s with the expectation to win the cup is incredible. Congratulations to our staff, players, and families who believe in our brand and the process.” - Santino Quaranta

Kicking off its first event this December in North Carolina, the ECNL Boys Super Cup will be a very small, qualification-based, additional event series for the top performing clubs in each ECNL Boys Conference. Every year, based on performances the previous year at the ages of U15 to U18/19, a small number of clubs from each Conference in the league will be invited to participate in the ECNL Boys Super Cup. Each qualifying club will bring one team to an ECNL Boys Super Cup event, where they will compete for a championship against top clubs from the Conferences in their region.

When Freddy Adu joined DC United in 2004, he would become teammates with two other players that had made their professional debut as teenagers. One of those players was Santino Quaranta. The Baltimore native exploded onto the national soccer scene, made his way to IMG Academy like Freddy would, and then became the youngest MLS player ever, beating Bobby Convey's record, when he made his DC United debut.

Injuries and challenges with substance abuse derailed Quaranta's career, but also strengthened his resilience. The one-time prodigy made his way back to MLS, then started his own club after retirement. He still leads Pipeline SC and is at the forefront of developing the next generation of youth players in America. Quaranta's story shares many similarities and differences to that of Adu's, but parallels it in so many ways. Each is a crucial part of understanding the evolution of soccer in America.

Founding Futbol is a year-long exploration of the critical moments that have led to soccer's emerging popularity in America.

ECNL Girls Return Back From Brazil After Spending The Last Few Weeks In Sao Pauol

A huge congratulations and welcome home to Ava Hartman and Alice Reiger who were invited to play with one of the biggest clubs in South America, Corinthians FC of the Brazilian Série A for the last few weeks. The girls were in São Paulo and trained with the U17 girls teams of the famed club. The girls also trained with Olympico located in Brooklin, São Paulo Brazil.

“Pipeline Soccer Club has contacts with a number of Brazilian and European parties so we were asked to submit 3 game videos and both Alice Rieger (goalkeeper) and Ava Hartman (forward) were invited to train with Corinthians FC for a two week period. The clubs and scouts were impressed with not only these two but a multitude of other girls in the U15 category as we look forward to build this relationship for years to come” said club President Sean Rush. “The girls were invited to train with the U17s and impressed each day and even being mentioned to train with the professional team in the future.”

From the Scouts:

1. "Ava is a great forward! She has a natural gift for being in the right place and scoring goals that seem like magic. It's amazing to see such a young player with so much talent and game insight." - Brazilian scout

2. "Alice is a true heroine in goal. Her saves are impressive, and the way she commands the area is something you don't see every day. She brings security to the whole team with her decisive performances." - Brazilian scout

Pipeline Keeper Commits to Harvard University

Pipeline Keeper Commits to Harvard University

Pipeline Soccer is proud to announce that Jason Broome - Goalkeeper of 2007 ECNL - has become the first player in Pipeline history to commit to attend Harvard University.

“Honestly, it’s all a little surreal” said Broome. “I’m really excited to commit myself to the admissions process at Harvard and am incredibly thankful that Coach Shapiro and the Harvard staff have given me the opportunity to attend one of the very best universities in the world. None of this would be possible without Coach Santino, Coach Phil and my Pipeline teammates, many of whom I’ve played with since I was 9.  Pipeline has had so many players come before me who have gone on to play at the Division 1 level and that definitely helped pave the way. I’m very grateful to Coach Sean and Pipeline for giving me, and all their players, the platform to be seen and make it to the next level.”

Jason is a current senior at McDonogh School and will be playing his 9th, and final, season at Pipeline this upcoming year.

“The one thing that really is the most satisfying thing about coaching for me is seeing players dreams and hard work pay off. Jason will arguably attend the best institution in the world as a student athlete. He’s one of the best GKs I’ve worked with and his work ethic is second to none. You don’t commit to Harvard on skill alone. It’s the complete package and that’s who he is. I’m also thrilled for Jason and the entire Broome family who have believed in our brand for many years” - Coach Santino Quaranta.

The Harvard Crimson men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Harvard University. The team is a member of the Ivy League of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
